Equine Assisted Learning

Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an emerging field in which horses are a part of an educational team. EAL focuses on teaching:

  • Positive Life & Social Skills
  • Academic Skills
  • Creative Arts
  • Emotional & Mental Fitness
  • Self-Discovery

Youth in our programs learn about themselves by working with the horses. Horses are naturally non-judgmental and honest. They communicate their feelings through non-verbal behavior and have much to teach us about patterns of communication, behavior and relationships.

The benefits of working with horses include:

  • Challenging youth in a non-threatening manner
  • Breaking down defense barriers
  • Providing immediate cause and effect situations
  • Captivating and holding their attention
  • Promoting change from old patterns to new, more successful ones
